Since its debut in 1999, Corvette Racing has competed in 77 races, scoring 51 victories and 34 one-two finishes. The team has won the ALMS GT1 manufacturers championship for Chevrolet six consecutive years. The Monterey Sports Car Championship Race held at the Mazda Raceway at Laguna Seca in October is the final race of the 12 race season for the American Le Mans Series. Held near one of the most beautiful areas in California only minutes from the coast near Monterey. The track is 2.238 miles with 11 turns and the cars run for 4 hours.

The only real competition for the Corvettes came from the Aston Martin DB9. The Corvette was so dominate for so many years that they were forced to add dead weight to the car to slow them down - it didn't work!

The front disc brakes are massive to say the least, the rotor appears to be almost 1 inch thick - also note the wheel well headers - By running them out and down the side of the car it helps keep the cockpit cooler.
